About Us
Radiac Research Corp. was established in 1969 by John V. Tekin, Ellery K Foley and Arthur F. Green.
Radiac's customer base over the years has included the following types of institutions:

- State and Local Laboratories and Research Facilities
- Federal Government Installations
- Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturing Facilities
- Industrial Manufacturing Facilities
We are also a Chemical Transfer Facility and hold permits for most of the United States.
In addition, we have been involved in many chemical decontamination procedures and have performed remote openings of various unstable chemicals.
Below are some of the projects that Radiac has worked on in the past 30 plus years.
Disposal and Decontamination Projects
1968: Rigging, transportation and disposal of 6000 curies of shielded Co-60 from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
1990: Decommissioning, Disposal and Relocation of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Walker Laboratory, Rye, NY to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Rockefeller Laboratory Building, NYC. This project also included relocation of laboratories within NYC to the Rockefeller Laboratory Building.
1991: Packaging, Transportation and Disposal of 3 curies of RA-226 sealed in a safe since 1976 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NYC
1994: Locating, Packaging, Transportation and Disposal of RA-226 and Kr-85 switches which were buried under a roof cave in as a result of ice accumulation. Philips Lighting, Mountain Top, PA. This project lasted close to 1 year with 50-70 personnel on site.
2001-2002: Packaging, removal, transportation and disposal of activated shielding blocks, Yale University, New Haven, CT.
2003: Rigging, truck, rail transportation and disposal of over 650 tons of activated metal from cyclotron decommissioning project, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA.
2004: Total Decommissioning (Including Health Physics Coverage) of cyclotron disposal project Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY
2005: Total Decommissioning (Including Health Physics Coverage) of cyclotron disposal project North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset, NY.
Radiac is an emergency response contractor for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and as such, has responded to many hazardous emergencies during our business career. Radiac is also a prime contractor for Household Hazardous Waste Events in the Metropolitan, NY and NJ areas. To date, we have performed over 1500 events and hold the record for processing the most vehicles (3300) during any one-day event. Radiac has demonstrated its commitment to the environment by collecting over 9 million pounds of Household Hazardous Waste since 1982.
